New Lassen County evacuation orders have been issued for Milford and Herlong area east (lake side) of Highway 395 from the Thunder Mountain Road intersection south to County Road A26 and Garnier Road. It also includes Highway 36 south to the west side of Highway 89 including Mud Lake, Soldiers Meadows and Shanghai Creek area, south to Humbug Road and west to the Butte County line.Įvacuation orders have also been lowered to warnings for the Highway 89 and Highway 36 Junction, north along Stover Mountain Road to the county line, west from Highway 89 and Highway 36 Junction along the south side of the highway to the county line. The remaining items were distributed to the Douglas County Community Center in Gardnerville NV. On Monday August 30 th, the Catholic Charities trucks delivered the donated items to the Green Valley Community Church in Placerville, CA. In total, $5,000 IN CASH donations were raised and TWO AND A HALF 26 foot trucks were filled with in-kind donated items to help aid people living at evacuation sites in the area. On Saturday August, 28 th 2021, Lotus Radio, Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada and the FBI Citizen’s Academy partnered together for the wildfire donation drive to help wildfire evacuees affected by the Caldor fire which is threatening thousands of lives and homes in South Lake Tahoe. Please refrain from traveling to the affected areas to ensure responders are not being blocked. Local and state officials are reminding residents and visitors to practice extreme caution while traveling on the roadways and to allow enough braking distance between cars to avoid collisions due to smoke.
